Liverpool Hire Arne Slot as New Manager
Klopp's Successor Announced
Liverpool Football Club have appointed Arne Slot as their new manager, the club announced Friday. Slot, 45, will join Liverpool from Feyenoord Rotterdam, whom he led to a second-place finish in the Dutch Eredivisie last season.
Slot replaces Jürgen Klopp, who left Liverpool at the end of the season after seven successful years in charge. Klopp led Liverpool to the Premier League title in 2020 and the Champions League title in 2019.
Slot has a reputation as an attacking coach with a keen eye for talent. He has developed a number of young players at Feyenoord, and his team has been known for playing an exciting, high-energy brand of football.
Liverpool are hopeful that Slot can bring the same success to Anfield. The club has not won the Premier League since 1990, and they have not won the Champions League since 2019.
