Villa Are Ready To Frighten Europe Again

Villa are ready to 'frighten' Europe again

Steven Gerrard pays tribute to Aston Villa's European heroes after Sevilla win

Aston Villa will look to make a splash in Europe once more after reaching the last 16 of the Europa League after a 1-0 win over Sevilla.

Ollie Watkins' first-half goal was enough to secure a famous victory for Villa, who are now unbeaten in their last 12 matches in all competitions.

It was a special night for Villa, who were playing in front of their own fans for the first time in Europe since 2010.

The atmosphere was electric, and the players responded with a performance that was full of passion and commitment.

Villa manager Steven Gerrard was delighted with his team's performance.

"I'm so proud of the players," he said. "They were magnificent tonight.

"To come to a stadium like this and play like we did is a credit to them.

"We're going to enjoy this moment, but we know that the job is not finished yet.

"We want to go as far as we can in this competition.

"We're going to give it everything we've got.

Villa will now face Dynamo Kyiv in the last 16 of the Europa League.

The first leg will be played in Ukraine on March 9, with the second leg at Villa Park on March 16.

Villa will be confident of beating the Ukrainians, who are currently second in the Ukraine Premier League.

If Villa can get through the last 16, they will then face either Bayer Leverkusen or Atalanta in the quarter-finals.

It would be a tough test, but Villa will be confident of causing an upset.

They have already shown that they can beat the best teams in Europe.

Now, they want to show that they can go all the way.
